Venugopal is the Kerala state best singer award winner thrice and has sung
for more than 200 films in Malayalam, 3 in Tamil, 3 in Hindi & 1in Telugu. Released
more than 175 private albums in light music & devotional music.
Travelled world wide with his own music troupe. USA & Canada (5 times), UAE
almost every year, Bahrain 4 times, Muscat once, Doha thrice, Japan once, Singapore
twice
Five times ( consecutive 1980 –’85), first prize winner, for light music
for the Kerala University Youth festival. Selected as Sarvakalaa Prathibha twice
in 1984 & 85.
Kerala State Award for the best playback singer thrice.
Kerala Film Critics Award for the best playback singer twice
Kerala Kaumudi Gallup poll Award twice
Kerala Govt Award for best singer in Professional drama

Regularly hosting a music programme for Kairali TV called Gandharva Sangeetham at
9.30 pm every Saturday & Sunday.
Deeply intersted in music with meaning, with major poets of Kerala like ONV, Suguthakumari,
Vishnu Narayana Namboodiri, Kadammanitta, Madhusodanan Nair& Satchidanandan.
He has also created a Malayalam ghazals project called Ghazal Pookal, rendered by

Gayathri (vocal)
Gayathri is the winner for the best playback singer and has won many prizes in light
music competitions. She was the winner of light music competition in Calicut University.
She has done recordings for the various cable channels like AIR, DD, ASIANET, KAIRALI
TV.
She has performed with eminent singers like Yesudas, Jayachandran, SP Balasubramaniyam,
S.Janaki & Shankar Mahadevan. She has worked with well known music directors
like maetro Ilayaraja, Sri Ravindran, Sri Vidyasagar, Sri Ousepachen & others.
Gayathri’s first song in movies was with music director Sri Ravin
dran for the movie Deena dayalo Rama (song Arayannagalude Veedu….) a semiclassical
in Hindustani style with Yesudas.
She got the State Best Female Playback singer for the song ‘Enthe nee kanna….in
the film Sasneham Sumithraku in the year 2003.
She recently sang for a world music album of music maestro Ilayaraja which is to
be released by Sony Music. She also gives classical recitals and she has sung for
established sabhas like Thygaraja sabha, Bharatham & this year for Soorya festival
in Trivandrum.
She has sung in a lot of albums devotional & light music. She has also been
anchoring for Gandharva Sangeetam, a prestigious music competition in the name of
Sri Yesudas for the Kairali TV channel and now for India Vision.
She is also a part of the Art of Living Organisation and travels all over the country
and does Bhajan concerts. She is a post graduate in literature.
Berni (Harmonium)
Berny was lucky to be born into a family of musicians. He mastered both bulbul &
harmonium from his brother Ignatius at a very young age. He embarked into the world
of music at the the age of 5 by receiving the prize for music from the parish church.
He was a choir member in the church, received many prizes for music competitions
throughout his school life. At the age of 11 under the guidance of Sri K.J. Yesudas,
bagged the first prize in All Kerala Light Music competition organized by Kalabhavan.
Later he performed in children’s music troupes & junior troupes. At the
age of 14, became the Kalabhavan ganamela troupe’s singer. He learnt Carnatic
music from Kalabhavan. He also received a number of prizes for instrumental music
in the University level.He has taught musical instruments like harmonium, keyboard,
congo drums, guitar etc in Music academies like Ernakulam Cochin Arts and Communications
and Kalabhavan. At the age of 17, performed as Kalabhavan’s lead guitarist
in music shows held all over Kerala. Also learnt western music under the the famous
ace violinist Rex Isaac. At the age of 20 composed music for two Christian devotional
songs recorded and released as Long Player record. In the same year two other Christian
songs composed by him were broadcasted by AIR. At the age of 22,he traveled to USA
with Cochin Chorus ganamela troupe. There he composed & recorded many drama
songs, light music and devotional songs for the Mlayalee Samajam.During the time
span of 1983-84 his brother Ignatius and himself under the banner Berny –
Ignatius, composed and recorded umpteen songs for famous cassette companies like
renjini,tarangini,Nisari. Magna Sound,CBS, BMG-Cresendo, Sariga etc. Played keyboard,
gitar.mandolin and banjo for many films and non film recordings.
In 1988 he formed an Orchestra troupe named Cochin Melodies & conducted many
programmes in & outside Kerala. He has also learnt music from the famous Carnatic
music teacher Kangazha Vasudevan. Also worked as Assistant Music director under
famous music directors like MS Vishwanathan, K Raghavan, MG Radhakrishnan, Vidhyadharan,
Jerry Amaldev etc
Rohan (Tabla)
Three times first prize winner in Tabla in State Youth festival.
He is the recipient of the scholarships of Central for Cultural Resources, New Delhi,
Sangeeth Visharad, Nikhil bharath Sangeeth Parishath Calcutta.
He has performed as Tablist with Hindustani legend Ramesh Narayanan, Usthad Chand
Pasha, Umbai, Anil Das Kozhikode, Shahabas Aman, Dr.Muhammed Shakeel, Jayaprakash
Menon, Gayathri, Haridas (Santoor)
Performed in the Soorya festival with Murali Thrichambaram (Guitar)
