Venue: Esplanade Concert Hall
Admission: free for Soorya (Singapore) members
An enthralling double bill - a dance performance and a music performance - of some
of the most acclaimed classical art forms of India by highly accomplished artistes,
in one evening
The dance segment features three renowned dancers performing three of the great
classical dance styles of India - KUCHIPUDI , MOHINIATTAM
AND KATHAK. Kuchipudi is presented by
Kalaimamani Uma Muralikrishna , mohiniattam by
Methil Devika and kathak by Anjana Jha,
coming together for the very first time in this Soorya Global Festival series. Don't

and North India!
In the music segment, enjoy a Jugal Bandhi (union of two styles)
of hindustani and carnatic styles of Northern and Southern India in two of the great
classical stringed instruments - Veena and Sitar.
While the veena is the quintessential symbol of South Indian (carnatic) music, the
sitar is the celebrated symbol of North Indian (hindustani) music.
Maestro Anantha Padmanabhan (veena) and Ustad
Rafique Khan (sitar) will be accompanied by Sudha
Ranjith on vocals , Anil
on mridangam and
M. Jayan on tabla.
